A full weekend

Well I kept myself really busy over the weekend.

I met up with Bea after work on Friday. We went to Causeway Point for dinner and to look for a luggage (wanted to get a new trolley bag for my BKK trip). No luck on the luggage so after dinner we headed over to my place so that I could change into shorts cos we were heading over to Sembawang for a walk and chat. We ended up walking to and around Sembawang for about 2 1/2 hrs!! It took us 1/2 hr to get to Sembawang and the rest of the time was spent walking around and chatting. Didn't take a rest or nothing. Boy were my calves aching by the time I got home.

On Saturday I stay home for most of the morning/afternoon watching a Korean drama or rather re-watching a Korean drama - My Lovely Samsoon - definitely I good show. After that I decided to head over to Sembawang Shopping Centre and Sun Plaza in Sembawang to look for luggage. No luck either but I did manage to get a DVD box set containing Studio Ghibli archives i.e. 10 movies and 2 short movies. Studio Ghibli are the people who did "Spirited Away" and "Howl's Moving Castle". The box set contained their earlier works in Japanese audio with English/Mandarin subtitles. It's a 4 disc box set and was a bargain for only S$40!!! Got home, cooked dinner (bangers and mash) and watched tv.

On Sunday I went to church as usual but after church I went out with Terena. We initially went to Yishun to look for my $5 shop which is this shop that sells factory rejects for like S$5/S$7/S$10. Sometimes you can find Old Navy and some other brands there. The store at Yishun didn't have much selection so we ended up going to their store in Toa Payoh which had a way better selection. I ended up getting 2 pairs of shorts (Old Navy and Lee Jeans) for S$7 a piece and 2 tees and a polo (can't remember the brand)for S$5 a piece!!! And they didn't have any defects on them either - must of been factory surplus. We spent the rest of the time at Toa Payoh wandering around the stores and had dinner there too. I managed to get my luggage - got a 24 inch bag that came with some big chunky wheels on it for S$37. We also ended up getting pedicures, well I had a manicure and a pedicure while Terena just had a pedicure. Pretty decent price too. If you just wanted a manicure it was S$20 while a pedicure was S$30 but if you had a combo then it was S$39. Managed to get home just after 9 pm which was just in time to watch a Chinese movie - they were showing Jet Li's "Hero".

All the walking around over the weekend really tired me out and I fell asleep within the first 20 mins of watching one of the Studio Ghibli movies.

And that was how I spent my weekend!
