Definition of "borderline obese"

Got this from a cartoon:

"The Book of Phrases
Borderline Obese - won't fit through the turnstill at the immigration booth"

Thought it was hilarious, don't need the images to laugh at it.

Why can't we have 3 day weekends???

Wouldn't it be great if we could always have 3 day weekends? I mean just as you start getting relaxed into the weekend it comes to an end

Was hoping to have a relaxing Saturday afternoon/evening doing some household chores so that I'd have the entire Sunday free but ended only doing half of them and going out with my mom for a while in the afternoon. Went out at about lunch time and came back at about 5 pm. My mom headed out in the evening to meet up with her friends (yes my mom is even more "havoc" (social) than I am lol) and I headed on down to the supermarket to get food to cook. Ended up cooking Shepard's Pie for 1, well sort of, ended up just having the filling, no mash...too hungry and too lazy given that I usually make my mash from scratch. Watched a bit of tv and then fell asleep kind of early. Needed to cos I had an early morning on Sunday.

Sunday, woke up at about 8 am. My friend, Terena, and I were supposed to go for the 9 am service but it was raining really heavily over at Bishan so we decided to go for a later one. My dad normally comes over for a visit on Sunday mornings at about 11 am but I figured if it was going to be raining heavily then best not for him to come in case he gets wet plus the floor is slippery so gave my sis a call to let her know (my dad stays with her and her family). Ended up going for the 11 am service which is fine by me. After church we went for lunch and then headed on home. I spent the rest of the day either doing my laundry or watching tv.

Never did get round to finishing up my website or doing any digi scrapbooking. Oh well shall try to do a little during work or in the evenings.

Aw crap

Aw man I did a really long post and then hit the spell check button and it all disappeared!!!! :( Oh well, I guess I'll just have to type it up again...wonder if I can remember what I said...getting old, getting forgetful...ok here goes.

Haven't been blogging here lately well cos there's not much to blog about lol so here's a brief recap of what I've been doing this past week...

Saturday

Went to watch Star Wars Episode 3. My firm invited all staff to a free viewing of the movie. They booked out an entire theatre and we all went to watch the 10.10 am showing. We were allowed to bring spouses and children. Alas, I have neither so I went with some friends from work except when our tickets were issued we were sitting in different locations, I was lucky though cos when I did get my seat I was sitting between another 2 friends of mine. They grouped everybody together according to your department and I guess they must of thought my department was the noisiest cos they put us right at the back, which is fine by me lol. The movie was pretty ok but I still prefer the original trilogy but it does help to tie Ep1 and Ep2 together with the original and that was what I was worried about. After the movie I just did a bit of shopping in town (seeing as I was already there) and then headed on home

Sunday

Went to church early this morning...yes I've been going to church the last few weeks. I go to one that's like a 10 mins walk from my home. I usually go with my friend Terena and well in the past we've gone for the 9 am and the 3 pm service. This time round we went for the 11 am service because my dad was joining us. I guess he just wanted to make I was going to an ok church and not like a doomsday cult thingy lol. You see my dad is a Japanese Buddhist as is my mom. Yes my dad the Englishman is a Japanese Buddhist...well to each their own. My family is really truly mixed up in more ways than one. There are 3 different religions in our immediate family. I'm a Christian and my sis is a Muslim but at least we all don't try to push our own religion on other members. My dad was the one who said he wanted to come with me to church, I didn't ask him to come with me but I was happy that he did. He said he liked it. My sis asked him about it when he got home (in case you didn't know, he stays with her and my mom stays with me), and he told her that we did a little singing and prayers at first and then there was the sermon. She asked if he thought that was the boring part and he said not at all...our pastor always has a joke or two or a funny story in his sermons, I guess so as not to bore the young and old lol. After church my dad headed on home and so did I. It was about 1 pm when I got home.

In the evening I popped downstairs to go and check out the pasar malam (night market) that was set up just downstairs my apt block. Got myself a vcd - Princess Diaries 2 - for just S$10. And before you ask, yes its legal, it's just from Malaysia that's all.

Monday

Well work was the usual, spent most of the time surfing the net lol. Usually go for a Tupperware meeting with my sis after work but we ended up not going this week cos we didn't really have any orders lol. Just as well too cos they we showing "Independence Day" on tv. I missed a bit of the beginning but that's ok cos the exciting part is near the end.

Tuesday

Just your typical day...get up...go to work...surf the net...have lunch...surf the net...go home...have dinner...watch tv...sleep...lol

Wednesday

Pretty much the same thing as Tuesday except that after work I met up with Yass, San San and Jo (friends of Judy's). We went to Scotts for dinner and then headed over to Tangs for a bit of shopping...more like watching Yass try on this shirt and then that shirt so very vain that boy. Judy joined us a little later on but I left them early. I left at about 9.30 pm mainly cos I was tired plus I wanted to catch this local show called "Eye for a Guy". It's sort of a local version of The Bachelorette. The bachelorette in question here is a MTV Asia VJ and well the guys are just regular guys living/working in Singapore. Yesterday was part 1 of the final episode so it's down to the final 2.

Here's a link to the show in case you want to see what I'm talking about Eye For A Guy 2

As for today, well I did a little work this morning but spent most of the time surfing as usual lol. After I'm done with this blog entry I'll probably do some work on my Flash site...it's coming along but a tad slow. Hope to finish it this weekend so that I can post it up for all to see. My boss has stepped out for a while and I'm not sure if he'll be back...he's been going off in the afternoons a lot lately but that's mainly cos he's been going for medical treatments.

Right shall go and get myself a cup of tea and then work on my Flash stuff.
