Making up for lost time
Well it's been about 3 weeks since I've been back at work and I've been busy like a squirrel collecting nuts just before winter (I don't know where that came from but it's 6.40 pm, I'm still in the office and my brain is fried! Did it make you laugh? If it did, then success!!!)
Like I said, work has been pretty busy and tiring so I normally just head on home to vegetate. If there's nothing good on tv (been watching a lot more Chinese stuff), then I'll be watching a vid, which could be anything from a Korean movie, Hong Kong movie or Japanese drama hahaha. I've started a little collection of Asian dramas hahaha. Getting Korean/Japanese/Hong Kong movies with English subtitles is pretty easy here, it's the Korean/Taiwanese/Japanese dramas that I have problems with. Not easy getting ones with English subtitles (especially Taiwanese dramas). It's getting a bit easier for Korean dramas though. Sometimes you can find the subtitle files on the net and rather than buying the show, I check my local vid store and see if they have it. If they do, then a borrow it, make a copy, add the subs and make my own dvds (thanks to my new dvd burner hahaha). Starting to do that for Korean movies too, rent them rather than buy them, unless I happen to be over at JB where they can be like dirt cheap and I mean like S$4 a movie hahaha.
Going shopping in JB is another thing I'm doing a lot now. Usually go with friends but my main purpose is to check out the vcds/dvds. I only buy the original stuff, too risky to buy pirated ones because they check your bag when you come over. The rule is if it's original and you spend less than RM150 you're ok. I recently got the dvd box set for the original Star Wars trilogy for only RM40/S$18. It costs S$100 for that here!!! I also got a Japanese drama that I hadn't been able to get in Singapore (well not with English subs anyway) for RM33/S$15. The vcd version (only with Chinese subs) costs S$18 here. Bought a couple of other Korean movies also. I usually get romance comedies cos I find Korean romance comedies are really cute, especially ones that involve high school kids. A couple of my faves are "My Little Bride", "My Tutor Friend" and "100 Days With Mr Arrogant".
These days I've been listening to Chinese music more, either the radio or on CD but it tends to be only a couple of artists.
Ok it's 6.55 pm and my brain is really starting to feel drained so I better end here.
